13February2018 ~ 4th grade concert
The fourth graders at Clough had a music concert last week. They did a wonderful job. Based on all the noise and excitement in the hallway back to class, the little kids loved it.
100th day of school...Lexi was the crazy cat lady. The house coat was a little heavy so I dressed Lexi in another outfit for when she took the coat off at school. You can't see it very well in the photo, but she also has gray hair.
08February2018 ~ 100th day of school prep
We are starting to pull together Lexi's costume for 100th day of school...dress like an old person. It's a think and we just don't have enough dark clothes. This was outfit one...the final costume to be revealed in a later post.
I start a new job on Monday. Thursday was my last day at my old company. My commute goes from an hour one way to 15-20 minutes...I look forward to it.
Nothing like stress on my last week. School was release early so I had to scramble that morning since I had to go into the office. Normally, I would have worked from home. Dave came home to get the girls off the bus.
I came home to blasting music, L and her friend baking cookies and a destroyed kitchen. L got bored so she talked Dave into going and getting her friend. They made smoothies, slime and was in the process of baking cookies.
04February2018 - all by herself
I'm not sure who is watching whom. L had a birthday party, soccer clinics, and then girl scouts yesterday. Lexi was home with Dave. This kid could take of herself at home all by herself if I allowed it.
L and I came home to Lexi creating a gingerbread. There was extra from December's gingerbread party left over. Lexi found it took out and was starting to decorate it when we got home. She's quite clever. She even got out L's nail polish which L told her she couldn't use (earlier in the morning).
The girls had painted their nails before I woke up. L painted her nail a green mood changing color and then gave Lexi her black glitter nail polish. The nail polish was all over Lexi's face. When we arrived home around 5PM, I asked Lexi where her black nail polish was. She whispers to me not to say anything to L.
03February2018 - mall time
After L's practice and soccer game, we headed to the mall with a friend. It makes for a long day and the girls wanted to have a sleep over on top of it. No! Lexi, as always, is along for the ride. She wasn't old enough to ride alone so she had to ride with L.
Then...she saw a younger girl riding all on her own. What does she do. She went right up to the attendant and called him out on it. He told her if she came back the next time and it wasn't busy, he would let her ride all by herself.
